Presencing the Future

Faced with unprecedented ambiguity, rate of change and complexity the leaders of our organisations and institutions have to develop their senses. Most organisations think hard about what to do next. However, reasoning your way into the future is not enough. We now have to use our senses to intuit what is coming and bring that into the present, to presence the future as MiT's Otto Scharmer puts it.

One place to explore and practise this ability is in improvisation; an artform which thrives on the unforseen and where you have to get ahead of your mind (and collective minds) to survive. The members of Impropera work with organisations seeking to touch what is beyond reach and access what’s beyond the mental radar. It is a world where the mind is overrated and the heart is the organ of the future.
